| | November 20, 2009 - We are proud to announce the Carolyn Frances Mack Nursing Education Fund initiated by an incredible $10,000 donation from Robert (Bob) Mack and the Motz Family Foundation. Robert Mack and the Motz Family Foundation are pleased to announce the formation of the Carolyn Frances Mack Nursing Education Fund within the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation.
Southampton Hospital has a high priority need for nursing education in Palliative Care, Cardiac Care, Clinical Technology and Leadership training.
Operating budget constraints only permit the minimum required training
opportunities. This memorial Fund is being provided for the specific purpose of
Palliative, Cardiac Care and Clinical Technology Education as well as Leadership
Training.
The Foundation will advertise and encourage their donors to annually contribute to this Fund to leave a lasting legacy of nursing education for the Southampton Hospital nursing staff.
Carolyn Mack (nee Helwig) had been a Team Leader of the inpatient medical and
surgical units as well as Clinical Supervisor at Southampton Hospital. The
opportunity for education and training through a fund in Carolyn's honour has been be enthusiastically welcomed by the nursing team.
There are many heartwarming stories of how the Southampton Hospital staff, during Carolyn's hospitalization and final days, cared for her so kindly and faithfully, many coming in on their personal time.
Carolyn has been described as a progressive person who was proud of her training
and accomplishments. Her career demonstrates that a nursing education fund
in Carolyn's name is a wonderful tribute to her memory.
Send your donation to honour Carolyn in support this important cause to:
